UPCOMING LITTERS
At Saltire Canines, litter plans are made carefully, with the health, temperament and future welfare of the dogs at the centre.
We have two plans at different stages: Bones has been mated, and we’re waiting until the appropriate time to check whether she is pregnant. Kaos is being considered for a future litter, subject to the right timing and all health and welfare decisions.
Joining an interest list is a way to tell us what sort of dog and home you’re looking for. It isn’t rreservation or a guarantee of a puppy.
Bones × Ragnar
German Wirehaired Pointer litter
Status: Mated — pregnancy unconfirmed
Bones and Ragnar mated on 17 and 19 October 2026. It’s too early to know whether Bones is pregnant. A scan is planned for mid-November. If pregnancy is confirmed, puppies may be expected around 19–21 December.
We’re prioritising suitable working homes, including detection, gundog, search and rescue, tracking or mantrailing, and dog sports. Active companion homes may also be considered.

English Springer Spaniel litter
Status: Future plan
Kaos may have a litter on a future season, once the timing and all health and welfare considerations are right. She has not come into season, and no mating date is set. Further details, including the sire, will be shared if the plan is confirmed. This litter is intended for experienced detection-dog homes. A puppy’s potential will be assessed as it grows; no puppy can be guaranteed to become a working detection dog or to pass a particular assessment or accreditation

About Saltire Canines
I’m Irene, the handler behind Saltire Canines. Dogs have been part of my life for decades, and I’ve spent many years training and working with them across activities including agility, gundog work, security and detection.
I’ve worked as a security dog handler since 2012 and in detection since 2016. My breeding plans are small and considered. I look at health, temperament, trainability and working potential, and I want each puppy to have a suitable home for life—whether its future is in work or as an active companion.
I raise puppies with everyday home life and careful early experiences in mind. I stay available to puppy owners for advice and support, and if a home ever can’t keep one of my dogs, I ask them to contact me so we can work out a safe solution.
Please note: Interest lists help us understand the homes looking for a puppy. They don’t guarantee a puppy or a particular outcome. All plans remain subject to the dogs’ health, welfare and suitability, and puppies will be matched to homes individually.
For the page, I’d keep the paragraphs short and make the status and timing prominent. The Bones card can be updated after the scan; the Kaos card can stay marked as a future plan until her season and mating are confirmed.
